The project is a huge undertaking. Although this event is
not about raising money, it will cost millions to facilitate
it. In addition to money, it will require 5 million people
to cover the 3,400-mile route between California and New
York on the day of the event. We will need a staff of over
33,000 volunteers to organize those participants. This is
an enormous number of individuals; but, in fact, that is
what this project is all about.

Pledge your spot in line! |
On September 11, 2002, five million individuals will assemble
at their designated spots to form a coast-to-coast line
from Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California to Battery
Park in the heart of New York City. At 8:48 a.m. (EDT);
which was the exact time the first plane hit the World Trade
Center, the participants will hold hands in a silent tribute
for five minutes. Each of the five minutes will be dedicated
to a particular group of individuals. Minute One will be
to honor the victims of New York City. Minute Two will be
to honor the victims of the Pentagon. Minute Three will
be to honor the victims of United Flight 93. Minute Four
will be to pay tribute to all of the heroes; both known
and unknown, who put others before themselves on that day
and during the days that followed. Minute Five will be dedicated
to all of those who were affected; either directly or indirectly,
both here and around the world. Following the five minute
silence, the participants will join in an unaccompanied
rendition of "God Bless America". The participants
will then go on with their plans for the remainder of the
day; hopefully, feeling peaceful and comforted by the experience.
