¨ Creates procedures for accepting participant pledges (Web site and 1-800 Number) ¨ Works with web designer to create programs to support procedures ¨ Researches costs of 1-800 number ¨ Sets up 1-800 informational message and reporting structure ¨ Implements reporting procedures and conducts test runs ¨ Develops procedures for National and Local Pledge Managers ¨ Accepts pledge reports from Webmaster and 1-800 number daily ¨ Prepares and distributes reports to National Staff Members ¨ Recruits National and Local Pledge Managers, as needed ¨ Oversees activity of National and Local Pledge Managers ¨ Reports directly to National Director

¨ Recruits Celebrity Relations Manager and Advertising Manager ¨ Assists executive board in recruiting Webmaster ¨ Oversees all national and local press releases ¨ Oversees advertising campaign ¨ Books all interviews/appearances on the National Level ¨ Travels with interviewees, on an as needed basis ¨ Oversees activity of Celebrity Relations Manager and Advertising Manager ¨ Reports directly to National Director

¨ Solicits corporate and private donations of money or services ¨ Develops and oversees merchandise fundraising program ¨ Works closely with bookkeeper and Executive Board Treasurer ¨ Recruits volunteer assistance, as needed ¨ Reports directly to National Director

¨ Develops a merchandise line to be used for fundraising ¨ Makes recommendations to National Staff regarding the look and quality of designs ¨ Seeks out the best quality, lowest priced suppliers ¨ Negotiates contracts and makes recommendations to National Staff ¨ Places orders and monitors suppliers ¨ Reports to Assistant National Director of Fundraising

¨ Manages an approximate 500 mile section of the route ¨ Refines the route plan ¨ Works with municipal, county and state DOT’s to secure permission and determine use fees and roadblock requirements, if any ¨ Determines approximately how many service centers will be needed ¨ Analyzes expenses and makes recommendations to the Executive Board ¨ Recruits Area Directors ¨ Instructs Area Directors on all procedures for Route Management positions ¨ Oversees activities of all Area Directors ¨ Makes local public appearances on behalf of Hands and Hearts ¨ On Sept. 11, 2002 – Notifies Asst. Nat. Dir. Of Rt. Man. that his 500 mi. section is connected ¨ Reports to Assistant National Director of Route Management

¨ Manages a 50 mile section of the route ¨ Determines exactly how many and where service centers will be placed ¨ Recruits First Aid and Security Personnel ¨ Instructs First Aid and Security Personnel on their positions ¨ Secures First Aid supplies and Portable Bathroom rentals utilizing provided data ¨ Recruits Local Directors ¨ Instructs Local Directors on the procedures of all Route Management positions ¨ Oversees Local Directors ¨ On Sept. 11, 2002 – Notifies Regional Director that his 50 mi. section is connected ¨ Reports to Regional Director

¨ Manages a 5 mile section of the route ¨ Recruits Mile Managers and Service Personnel ¨ Instructs Mile Managers and Service Personnel on the procedures for their positions ¨ Meets with Area Director to review Area Director’s provisions for his Locality ¨ Coordinates with Area Director on First Aid and Security Personnel ¨ Holds meetings to brief Local Support Staff and First Aid and Security Personnel on their responsibilities ¨ Oversees all Local Level Support Staff and First Aid and Security Personnel ¨ Sept. 10 – early Sept. 11: Oversees the following: ¨ Set up of Service Centers ¨ Set up of Balloon route markers (every 1/8 mile) ¨ Set up of Roadblocks ¨ Sept. 11 : Oversees the following ¨ Ensures that Mile Managers are assisting participants to their spots ¨ Ensures that all participants are connected at designated time ¨ Notifies Area Director that his 5 mi. section is connected ¨ Reports to Area Director
